Atletico went into the game top of La Liga and full of confidence against a Barcelona side which was aiming for a fifth European Cup success.

Koke class —
Atletico made the perfect start to the contest when Koke fired home from close range to give the home side a 1-0 lead on the night, 2-1 on aggregate.

Champions League quarterfinals —
Leading 1-0, Atletico dominated the opening 45 minutes and hit the woodwork on three separate occasions. Barca attempted to find a way back but the home side held out to claim a famous victory.

Up for the Cup —
Bayern Munich supporters packed into the Allianz Arena to watch their side take on Manchester United. The two teams drew 1-1 in the first leg of their Champions League tie at Old Trafford.

Rooney ready —
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney started the game despite having struggled with a toe problem in the lead-up to the contest.

Happy Evra after? —
United took a shock 57th minute lead when Patrice Evra's thunderbolt flew into the top corner of the net from 20-yards.

Super Mario —
Bayern leveled just minutes later when Mario Mandzukic headed home from close-range to make it 1-1 on the night and 2-2 on aggregate.

Muller time —
Thomas Muller added a second with 23 minutes remaining to give Bayern a 2-1 lead on the night after converting an Arjen Robben cross. Robben added a third to win the tie with a classy finish.
